I felt like my life was consumed by anxiety and panic attacks, which started when I was very young, around 12 or 13. My first panic attack left me feeling like I was outside my body, afraid I wasn’t real. As someone who craves stability and control, I felt uneasy and helpless. After a major panic attack in college, I spiraled downward, living in constant fear of another episode. For the next decade, even the smallest hint of anxiety kept me indoors, away from friends and family. I stopped traveling—first long distances, then at night, and sometimes even to the grocery store. There were days I couldn’t leave my house because the fear was so overwhelming. I felt hopeless and frustrated that something I couldn’t see had so much control over me. Medication helped to an extent, but the more I took, the less energy I had. I didn’t want to spend every day half-awake and afraid. I saw great reviews for this practice and, despite never having met anyone who used hypnosis, I was receptive to it and decided to give it a shot. Working with Joanna was an incredible experience. Before I started with Joanna in hypnotherapy, I was out of ideas as to how to jumpstart my life. I had been dealing with depression for quite a bit of time. I had tried everything when it came to health/diet. I went to therapy to work on personal issues. On the outside, my life looked great. But, I was dealing with “stuff”, much like a good majority of people.
Working with Joanna has been life changing. In our discussions, Joanna has asked me such profound questions that I had never asked myself. She helped me pinpoint where I was holding myself back. She identified areas of my life that needed my attention if I wanted to produce change and facilitate success. Prior to each session, you allowed
me the opportunity to vent to you about anything occurring in my present life so you knew what
we should focus on for our mindfulness practice. This truly helped me more than words can
express as it allowed me to focus on my emotions for that present moment and be able to move
past that in a positive way so I was left feeling less negative energy and with more positivity. I
remember one particular session we discussed an unfortunate incident I had with a previous
coworker, and it was really bothering me to the point where I was feeling angry and not wanting
to forgive her. You were able to conduct such a powerful mindfulness practice where I imagined
I was talking to her and forgave her for my own peace of mind, and as we did this practice
together I was able to release all this anger I felt and was ready to feel more at peace.
You also led another session where you allowed me the opportunity to imagine myself
successful a few years from now and I was able to think about things I would like
for myself and future practice. This gave me so much to think about and challenged me in a
positive way. It was also a nice distraction from my current daily stressors of school and work. I
appreciated this very much. You truly have a gift of allowing others to feel they can be
vulnerable with you and choosing the best mindfulness practice to help them for not only that
moment, but the future as well. There were times when we worked together I also felt you had great intuition about my needs, and that is also a wonderful gift you have to offer.

I wanted to share my thoughts with the coaching sessions that I had with Joanna. When first meeting Joanna, I could tell that she has a sweet spirit and is very in tune with helping other people. She was very thorough in going over my medical history, wanting to get to know me and my background. She asked me what I wanted to improve on in my life. She really listens and helps give suggestions to make changes in my life.
Before meeting Joanna, I had been struggling with some health issues and was on the beginning of a new path in my life. I had to walk away from some toxic relationships and to walk alone for now to really find myself again. Joanna helped me set some personal weekly goals to work towards having a happier whole life. Examples of them are starting my day doing a 20-minute meditation, setting 3 mantras to help me stay positive and to focus on what I want to create in my life. I would finish my day drinking chamomile tea and doing a restorative yoga class a couple times a week in the evenings to help me wind down.
